Hello Friends! Welcome back to ASW Homestead! Today we will be sharing how to make simple pancakes. This is an easy go-to recipe that can be whipped up from scratch in just a few minutes.

3 eggs
3 cups of milk
1/4 cup of melted butter
3 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
7 tsp. baking powder

Combine the three eggs, milk, and melted butter in a large mixing bowl.
Whisk together until throughly combined. The mixture will look a little frothy.

It’s best to whisk the dry ingredients together before you add them to the wet ingredients.
Either way, add in the flour, baking powder, and salt to the mixing bowl.

Mix until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined to form a batter but be careful not to over mix the batter.
If you want to include and add-in like chocolate chips or blueberries this is when you would fold them into the batter.
We included a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to our simple pancakes.
Preheat your griddle to 375 degrees F. Once the griddle is preheated add your grease – either a tsp of butter or butter spray.
Drop the batter by ¼ cupful on to a hot, greased griddle.
We use a 1/4 measuring cup to ensure consistent sized pancakes.

Cook until the edges are set and bubbles break the surface of the pancake, about 2-3 minute.
Flip the pancake and continue cooking until golden brown and cooked through.
Makes about 24 pancakes

Including add-ins into your pancakes can be delicious. Our family loves adding chocolate chip to the pancake batter and we do it often. We add between 1/2 – 3/4 cup of dry or fruit add-ins.
If you are thinking about including a wet add-in, such as pumpkin puree or mashed banana, add no more than 1/2 cup to the batter.

WE love to top our chocolate chip pancakes with fresh sliced strawberries. These pancakes are wonderfully paired with sausage cheese balls and a smoothie. How do you eat your pancakes?
