Hello friends, and welcome back to ASW Homestead! Even though the school year is starting, grilling season is far from over around here. In fact, some of our favorite meals come off the grill during these late summer and early fall evenings when the air is still warm but the days are growing shorter.
This Crispy Grilled Kicken Chicken is one of those meals that feels special without being fussy. Using the spatchcock method helps the chicken cook evenly while staying juicy inside with perfectly crispy skin on the outside. The seasoning blend gives it just enough heat to make things interesting, while still being family-friendly.
If you’re looking for a recipe that keeps your grill in action and your table full of smiles, this one is worth adding to your rotation.

If you’ve never spatchcocked a chicken before, don’t let the name scare you off! All it means is removing the backbone so the chicken can be flattened out and cooked more evenly on the grill. This method shortens the cooking time, keeps the meat moist, and ensures the skin turns that beautiful crispy golden brown we all love.
On the homestead, we’re always looking for meals that stretch a little further, and a whole chicken does exactly that. You can serve it hot off the grill the first night, then use leftovers in sandwiches, wraps, or even tossed into soups. One chicken, multiple meals. That’s what I call frugal and flavorful.
Grilled chicken is one of those simple pleasures that never really goes out of season. With this Crispy Grilled Kicken Chicken, you’ll have a meal that’s hearty, full of flavor, and perfect for family dinners, weekend cookouts, or even a midweek pick-me-up.
So fire up that grill, season generously, and make room at the table — because meals like this aren’t just about the food, they’re about the memories made while sharing it.
🍗 I’d love to know — what’s your favorite way to enjoy grilled chicken? Share your tips in the comments, or tag @aswhomestead if you try this recipe so we can see it on your table too!

I’m here to share recipes and ideas to help others make their home a simple homemade homestead.
